Lately, I’ve been reading a lot about video production and how videos are starting to take over the advertising world, just take a look at Facebook.
You see, people prefer to watch something instead of spending their precious time reading words or even look at images. Let’s take small businesses for example…
I was recently in Indianapolis, Indina visiting my aunt. Soon after our plane landed and I turned on my phone and got on FB, the ads for local companies started to show.
I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that I’ve been planning this trip for over a month, and much of my communications were through…you guesses it…Facebook!
Anywho… It was refreshing to see that companies like gyms and restaurants are targeting me, the visitor with their cool short-term offers.
When we arrived at my aunt’s house, it was all about family time and catching up, and she wanted to show me a post from her friend on FB. Scrolling through her news feed, she came across a very interesting video of a hardscaping company talking about their services. Funny enough, my aunt was in the market for a new kitchen out back, and ended up getting in touch with the company.
I didn’t think much of it, but thinking back, it was HUGE! I watched a marketing strategy work flawlessly. I did some digging and found the company. Check out the video on outdoor kitchens they’ve used in their ad.
I think that the coolest part was how they didn’t try to sell you anything, but wanted to help instead.
Another cool thing is the price of something like that.
Anyone can do it and all they’d need is a laptop and notepad, or simply freestyle the speech. In this day and age it extremely important for small companies to use every possible free resource to get their name out there, it’s not all about ads and listings, sometimes as a business owner, you just gotta take imperfect action and see what comes out of it.
Check out the screenshot of their site below, in my opinion it looks very clean:
P.S. My aunt ended up hiring them to do all the backyard paver work for her, and she’s got a large back yard 😉
